madam, i'm adam

welcome back, any of you that are still with us.
track 107 was beck and the lips doing "sissyneck," named after me, obviously, without permission.
track 108 was "que onda guero" remixed by the islands and found on guerolito, which is better than guero, as far as i'm concerned.
track 109 is "rough gem" off of the islands kind-of debut return to the sea.
track 110 is "where there's a will there's a whalebone" off of the same album. you can hear an l.a. mc called "busdriver" on that track and he and radioactive are responsible for track 111, "carl weathers." track 112 "opposable thumbs" is also busdriver.
when we saw the islands play kayo gallery in slc a couple of weeks ago, they were supported by busdriver with anti-mc, and a guy from edmonton called cadence weapon who did "grim fandango," track 113. grim fandango is an awesome game and cadence weapon is an awesome performer. he introduced himself as "cadence weapon, a.k.a. 8.0 on pitchfork" which was hilarious by itself, but then became even more strangely funny when i found out that cadence weapon also goes by rollie pemberton and writes for pitchfork. and apparently hangs out in canadian shoe stores. (thanks to the pooch for the scoop.)
as a pitchfork reviewer, mr. weapon gave viktor vaughn's vaudeville villain a 9.1. track 114, "let me watch" is my favorite track on that album. that out-of-nowhere vocoded line at the end of the song is weirdly perfect.
as you probably know, viktor vaughn is a fictional character for whom mf doom provides the voice. track 115 is off of danger doom, the collaboration between doom and danger mouse, who i am glad to see is finally getting his day in the sun as one half of gnarls barkley. danger mouse got in some legal trouble when he released the grey album, a mashup between the beatles' white album and jay-z's the black album. track 116 is "public service announcement" off of that album.
